Quilling Guild Terminology Sheet
a List of Techniques made from Paper/Card Strips and Glue

1st January, 2021

In this file, we are attempting to show all the techniques used by modern quillers.  Many are derived from antique quilled items. Many are variations of those techniques.  All such techniques are marked with an asterisk *.
Some variations are so far from the original that they are considered to be techniques in their own right.  Some techniques regularly used by quillers may have their origins in other crafts, such as straw-work, ribbon work or paper sculpture.  Some are entirely new inventions.

A printable version of the document can be accessed here.

The Guild values and encourages the use of all techniques in general and in its competitions, unless the rules and guidelines state otherwise.

N.B.  This is a working document.  We welcome suggestions and comments to contribute to its evolution.
